American singer-songwriter Becky G joined in DreamWorks' animated film “Spirit Untamed” soundtrack.
From the soundtrack, she released a new song “You Belong” on May 21, 2021.
The track was written by Michael Pollack, Jake Torrey, Casey Smith and Zach Skelton, who also produced it.
The film is directed by Elaine Bogan and co-directed by Ennio Torresan Jr., in which they made directorial debut. It is based on the Netflix animated television series “Spirit Riding Free”.
It stars Isabela Merced, Jake Gyllenhaal, Marsai Martin, Mckenna Grace, Julianne Moore, Walton Goggins, and Eiza González.

Becky G told ET, “Actually, we will be releasing the lyric video and there's a little bit of behind the scenes of recording the song and how it all came together. I had so much fun because it's, one, such a fun song and, two, it's a song I would sing to my younger self or even today. I think after the year that we've all lived throughout the pandemic, we have either been inspired to learn and discover more about our own selves or sometimes questioning our place in the world. I've flipped and flopped between both of those things and I feel like the song really resonated with me. [My involvement], it's something that quite some time ago, early on into the pandemic, we had a creative meeting well before the film was even finished to see how I could participate because I was such a big fan of the original Spirit movie. And now for Spirit Untamed, it feels like a full-circle moment.”- source : Spotify
