Ashe Premieres New Song “Me Without You”
- American singer-songwriter Ashe premiered a new song “Me Without You” with an accompanying music video on May 5, 2021.
The song is the fifth single off of her upcoming debut album “Ashlyn”, following “Moral of the Story”, “Till Forever Falls Apart”, “Save Myself” and “When I'm Older”.
The track was written by Big Taste, Casey Smith and Ashe. Produced by Big Taste. The video was directed by Jason Lester.
Ashe shared on social media, “me without you is out everywhere now!! it's very possibly the best thing i've done yet. my album is out in 2 days✨ which makes me believe these must be the golden years and i can't wait to share all of it with you!!!! till then, tell your friends this song is the missing piece they didn't know they lost i'm dead serious. i love you deeply! thank you so much!!!!!! 🥲🥲”
She said of the song, “'Me Without You' is my follow up to 'Moral Of The Story'. It's saying you thought that I needed you to be who I am. There is my past relationship...I had multiple people... You know, assumed that I needed them in my life to feel confident or to be me and 'Me Without You' is just this record that's like, ‘Ooh, I am so good on my own'.”
The debut album is out May 7th and comprises of 14-track, featuring guest appearances from FINNEAS and Niall Horan.
She said of the album, “Ashlyn is deeply reflective and honest, full of stories of my experiences with fear and pain and turning those hard things into joy and independence. I'm an experiential writer and there was no way I was going to make an album that didn't address my personal journey, from my brother's death this last year to my own experiences with emotional abuse. I think you have to be vulnerable to create something really great and I believe I did that. Writing this album was also an opportunity to show that I'm not just a songwriter and a singer but a producer and a musician with a very clear vision for my art.”
