Toronto-based DJ Fazi, aka FVZ teamed up with Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Liel Bar-Z to release a new song “The Judge”.
The song was written by Fazi and Liel Bar-Z, and produced by FVZ.
The track is his second single, following the debut song “On My Wa” featuring Siera.
FVZ said of the song, “'The Judge' is my first funk influenced pop song. It exists to uplift you and get you energized for whatever you are going to be doing. I collaborated on this track with Liel Bar-Z, who provided vocals and wrote the song's lyrics. I usually produce songs starting with the instrumental but in this case it was up to me to create a track to match the vocals and show my capabilities as a producer.”- He continued, “The bass line is the driving force behind "The Judge," contributing rhythmically via a call and response with the vocals. Including saxophone and trumpet solos harkens back to my days performing in middle and high school jazz bands. Once I had added those elements, the song felt truly complete.”
After releasing the new song, he plans to release other 2-3 songs this year. He told VENTS Magazine, “I'm always working on new material and for consistency I always work on 2-3 songs ahead of schedule, meaning I already have the next 2-3 songs schedule to be released.” - source : SoundCloud
