American singer-songwriter Hope Vista, former lead vocalist of American alt-rock band VISTA, has unveiled her new solo pop project, called Ravive.
She premiered a debut song “Sahara” on March 5, 2021. The track was written by Hope Vista and produced by Okan Kazdal.
Hope Vista said of the song, “'Sahara' was an experience. I wanted to really paint the visual of trudging through the desert, feeling exhausted, but still trying to make it home. Pop music has always been a euphoric, but sometimes heartbreaking sonic trip for me, so I wanted to create a song that could be that experience for someone else. 'Sahara' captures an odd juxtaposition between mental exhaustion and finding sanctuary. Exploring those opposites melded into a synth fusion that I instantly fell for.”- Hope Vista said of her solo project, “Releasing music under the name Ravive is the most authentic representation of who I am artistically at 27. Of course, Hope Vista is my real name, and that is my core - but Ravive allows me to showcase the evolution of my artistry from 2015 to now. Ravive is me, now, 5 years later. My previous musical endeavors - releasing solo music years back as Hope Vista and then as the lead vocalist of alt rock band VISTA - represented where I was. Ravive is darker, feels everything quite vividly, and knows what the music in her head sounds when brought to fruition. Pop music is an exciting part of what's in my blood. I am RAVIVE - a revived form of Hope Vista, just a bit more evolved.”
