Canadian singer-songwriter Lia Kay unveiled her debut song “Walk Away” on February 5, 2021.
The track features electro pop sound with sweet melody. It was written by Lia Kay. Produced by Andre Kaden Black.
The song will appear on her upcoming EP “Daydreaming”, which is expected to be released in 2021.
“I think we all go through at least one relationship in our lives that rips our heart out. Sometimes it's with amazing people, and other times it's with someone who doesn't deserve you,” Lia Kay said. “My new single, "Walk Away," is about loving someone so fiercely that you struggle to leave them, even though you know you have to in order for them to see themselves through your eyes; to see how extraordinary they truly are. You go, in hopes that they mend whatever pain they may be going through.”- She said of a story behind song, “I wrote this song while I was in my last year of university about someone I loved very much. I was studying classical piano and we had these practice rooms we could sign out to rehearse our repertoire. Him and I used to take shots of tequila before our tests; we aced them everytime!” She continued, “WAfter dating on and off, it became clear that timing was just really not on our side. I remember napping in one of the practice rooms and hearing a melody in my head along with a clear realization of having to move on. I woke up and conveniently enough I was beside a piano. I ended up writing this song in a practice room, finally seeing that I had to let him go.”
