Monica Drops New Music Video for “TRENCHES” featuring Lil Baby
American singer-songwriter Monica has shared a new music video for “TRENCHES” directed by RiTE.
She teamed up with American rapper Lil Baby for the song.
The track was released from her upcoming ninth studio album of the same title back in August. It was written by Pharrell Williams, Monica, Lil Baby and Chad Hugo.
The new album is expected be released in early 2021 under her own independent label Mondeenise Music, Inc. It is her first music project in six years.
Originally, the album title was “Chapter 38”. But after her divorce from basketball star Shannon Brown, it was changed to “TRENCHES”.
"I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that I am now a divorced single mom with three kids," Monica said. "I'm in the trenches of that. I'm in the trenches of figuring out my everyday life."
"So, I named the album Trenches because I'm not ashamed of what I've been through," she continued. "Some of it I have no control over, some of it all my fault. I'm living and learning, just like everyone else."- source : abc
