American singer-songwriter H.E.R. appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform her latest songs “Damage” and “Hold On”. The host was British singer-songwriter Adele.
"I love her SO much I can't wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all," Adele wrote on her Instagram announcement this week.
“Damage” was released on October 21st. The track samples Herb Alpert's 1980 single “Making Love in the Rain”, featuring Lisa Keith and Janet Jackson.
It was written by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, H.E.R., Tiara Thomas, Ant Clemons and Cardiak.
Before Saturday Night Live, she dropped a new music video for “Damage”, which was shot at the Roxie Theatre in Los Angeles and produced by Nancy Yalley.
“Hold On” was released on October 25st, following “Damage”. It was written by Non Native, Luis Campozano, Tiara Thomas and H.E.R..
This marks the first time she has performed the songs on TV.
Both songs will appear on her upcoming untitled studio album via MBK Entertainment/RCA Records.- lJbQiqrKN4c
