Jack White Performs “Ball and Biscuit”, “Don't Hurt Yourself”, “Jesus Is Coming Soon” & “Lazaretto” on Saturday Night Live
- American singer-songwriter Jack White appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform a medley of “Ball and Biscuit”, “Don't Hurt Yourself” and “Jesus Is Coming Soon”, as well as “Lazaretto”.
“Ball and Biscuit” is included on Jack White's band, The White Stripes' fourth studio album “Elephant”, which was released in 2003.
“Don't Hurt Yourself” appeared on Beyoncé's sixth studio album “Lemonade”, which was released in 2014. Produced by Jack White. It contains samples of Led Zeppelin's “When the Levee Breaks”.
“Jesus Is Coming Soon” was released by American gospel blues singer Blind Willie Johnson in 1928.
Jack White played tribute to late Eddie Van Halen during performance for “Lazaretto” with using a guitar designed by Eddie Van Halen.
Jack White wrote on social media, “i thought it could be a nice gesture for me to use this blue eddie van halen model guitar for one of the songs tonight on SNL. the guitar was designed by eddie (with a few customizations i had added). eddie was very kind to me and saw to it that this guitar was made for me to my specs. i wont even insult the man's talent by trying to play one of his songs tonight. thanks again eddie for this guitar and rest in peace sir.”
