Lebanese singer-songwriter Maro has released his debut single “Carsick” with an accompanying lyric video.
The track will appear on his upcoming debut EP, which is expected to be released this fall.
Maro said of the song, “‘Carsick’ is about my on-and-off relationship with a girl. Despite knowing there’s no point in trying again, I still do, which leads me to bad habits and a repetitive cycle.”
19-years-old, Maro is born and raised in Beirut, the Lebanese capital, the singer moved to different places several times throughout his upbringing. His experience influenced his music, and is fluent in French, Arabic, Russian, English, and now he can sing in 7 different languages
“Moving and traveling around during my early teenage years made me feel lonely. I started to write songs and be creative, it became the perfect outlet for my emotions,” Maro said.“My parents’ taste in music has really contributed to my sound as an artist in terms of deriving inspiration from Lebanese and Ukrainian culture.
