0171 Announces New EP “Change Nothing”, Releases New Song “Photograph”
London-based alt-pop duo 0171 has announced their sophomore EP “Change Nothing” will be released on August 14, 2020. It is their first EP in a year.
On July 17th, the third single off of the EP called “Photograph” was released following “Follow” and “Automatic”.
“Photograph is inspired by looking at a photo of an ex," the duo said. "A photo that records a moment when everything seemed perfect, but now it's a lie, and it makes you feel strange, like you can't really remember who you were in that photo, when you loved that person. Like a life that never happened. We've all picked up old photos like that we find in our bedroom, that make you sit down and feel sad for a time that is lost, even if you don't regret the relationship ending. I'm (Joe) definitely someone who spends a lot of time thinking about my past, and the feelings that I'll never get back. Georgie's there in this song to tell me to get over it ffs.”
- The accompanying music video was directed by Jake Alden-Falconer. “The video is made up of hundreds of photos from our lives,” Joe Bedell-Brill said. “It's a really intense experience for us, watching our lives fragmented, speeding by, while the song that we've put everything into recently plays. It symbolises everything that we care about now, and everything that's already gone. It makes us realise that even though it's so much easier to keep photos now, we're doing it less and less. It makes us scared that life is slipping away.”
