  • Sam Smith Covers Coldplay's “Fix You”

  • British singer-songwriter Sam Smith recorded a cover of Coldplay's “Fix You” for the iHeart Living Room back in May. The performance video was directed by Luke Halls Studio.
The original of the song was released in 2005 by British rock band Coldplay from their their third studio album “X&Y”. The song reached No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart.
"Thank you @Coldplay for writing such a beautiful song," Sam Smith shares on social media. “I love this song, and as soon as I heard it I was just reminded again of how much of a classic it is. I've never actually seen Chris Martin perform this live, but I really want to, because I've fallen in love with this song after singing it. Really weirdly fallen in love with singing again. I've been singing so many different songs, songs that aren't my own.”
Sam Smith is currently working on his third studio album. Originally, the album title was “To Die For”, it would be pushed back from its original May 1st release date due to the coronavirus. "doesn't feel right... I have to come to the decision to continue working on the album and make some important changes and additions. I will be renaming the album and pushing back the release date — both of which are to be confirmed at this time."
