The Wrecks Unveils New Song “Fvck Somebody”
- Los Angeles-based alt-rock band The Wrecks unveiled new song “Fvck Somebody” on December 6th.
The track is a wry self-described “journal entry” that twists the traditional breakup narrative on its head. It is the second single of 2019 following “Freaking Out”.
Frontman Nick Anderson explains, “No one wants to be the bad guy. Especially when you're in a relationship that seems fine on the surface, but you know isn't going anywhere. So what do you do? Well, I think you're supposed to have a mature conversation about your feelings and, with a contrite sadness, gently end the relationship with tears and well-wishes. But the last time I tried that, my girlfriend ran barefoot onto the freeway. So I think it's better to just suffer passive-aggressively until your significant other decides to fvck somebody else and you finally have an out.. No? Just me?”
- The Wrecks consists of Nick Anderson (vocals/guitar), Nick Schmidt (guitar), Westen Weiss (guitar), Aaron Kelley (bass), and Billy Nally (drums).
The band debuted with “Favorite Liar” in 2017. Their debut EP “Panic Vertigo” last February.
The Wrecks will support Silversun Pickups' tour between December 13th and 18th. Then they will perform at House of Rock in Corpus Christi on December 20th, at Empire Control Room in Austin on December 21st and at Granada Theater in Dallas on December 22nd.
