Lydia Halloway Releases New Song “Lights Go Out”
- New York-based singer-songwriter Lydia Halloway debuted with “Dancing to You” back in March. She created electro-pop sound with her softy melody.
On August 15th, she released third single “Lights Go Out”, following “Gold”.
Lydia Halloway said of the song, “It really proved to me that I could write music that's outside my sonic comfort zone. I hope you love it, and it makes you feel confident and introspective all at the same time.”
Originally, before making her debut, she created acoustic sound with guitar and planned to release her debut EP which she describes as a “simple, heartfelt EP”. But an unexpected cancer diagnosis brought the project to a sudden halt.
During treatment, she found a new music style and crafted more electronic pop sound. Her sound reminds us of Norwegian DJ Kygo.
Finally, she worked with Dice Suzuki and iamsimon for her debut EP, which is expected to be released this year. She said, "I was lucky to have an amazing team for the EP. Almost all of the writing I did myself, but I worked with kick-ass producers — iamsimon, who’s based in Stockholm, as well as Dibs, who’s worked with some of my favorite artists ever. I’m honestly so grateful for their work."
