Tate McRae Releases New Song “It's ok I'm ok”
Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae released her brand new single called “It's ok I'm ok” on September 12, 2024.
The song is her first music since her sophomore album “Think Later”. which was released last December.
She first performed the song during her Think Later World Tour at NYC's Madison Square Garden last month.
She wrote the song with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Savan Kotecha, and Ilya who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, and it is reminiscent of the videos for Britney Spears's “I Wanna Go” and The Pussycat Dolls' “When I Grow Up”.
Tate McRae said of the song, “I'm so beyond excited to share “It's ok I'm ok” with the world and this new chapter of my music. This song is a byproduct of reflecting back on past relationships to now and how much I've grown and learned from them. It's a playful take on knowing your worth and the all too relatable feeling of never wanting someone back.”- Tate McRae is best known as a dancer, and the clip showcases to combine her songwriter and dancer part.
Back in March, Tate McRae told PAPER about songwriter and dancer, “It's so fun. I feel like the songwriter part of me and the dancer are two different entities. It's such a learning curve. As a singer you approach things differently than how you approach things as a dancer.” - Tate McRae shared on social media, “Thank u so much to everyone who helped me bring this song and video to life Ryan Tedder, Ilya Salmanzadeh, Savan Kotecha, Hannah Lux Davis, Brett Alan Nelson forever grateful to u.”
