  • Sting Premieres New Song “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)” on BBC Radio 2

  • British singer-songwriter Sting premiered a new song “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)” on BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills.

Earlier this year, Sting formed a new band STING 3.0 with longtime guitarist Dominic Miller and former Mumford & Sons touring member Chris Maas.
This time, he recorded the song with the band and also producer Martin Kierszenbaum played the organ.
The song is his first music in three years since the 2021 album “The Bridge”.
On the track, Sting incorporates a variation of the classic 3-2 clave rhythm of West African origin, which renowned computer scientist Dr. Godfried Toussaint called “The Rhythm that Conquered the World”.
The track was written by Sting and produced by Martin Kierszenbaum.
The accompanying music video features photos and video footage of Sting performing live.
  • Sting told Scott Mills, “I'm headlining radio two in the Park on Saturday in Preston, but I want to play a new song for you before that. It's called 'I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)'. It's a love song. Well, it's a noisy love soul, and I hope you all like it. So I'll see you Saturday, if you're coming, and if you can't make it, listen on Radio 2 BBC sounds.”

Sting embarks on North American tour. The tour kicks off at the legendary Fillmore Theater in Detroit on September 17, 2024.
