American singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope has announced her fourth studio album “Hereditary” will be released on July 12, 2024.
It is her first album in three yeas since the 2021 album “Thrive”.
The album comprises a 12-track, featuring guest appearances from Daisha McBride and Aaron Gillespie.
On the album, she is back to pup punk her roots from country music. Originally she was lead singer of the pop rock band Hey Monday.
Cassadee Pope said of the album, “My new album Hereditary offers a soundtrack to navigate the complexities of life with authenticity and courage. I couldn't think of a better backdrop for these lyrics than pop/punk and I hope this album gives people permission to feel everything!”- From the album, she released the fourth single called “Three of Us” on May 1, 2024.
The song delves into the heart-wrenching reality of addiction and its profound impact on relationships.
The track was written by Ali Tamposi, Andrew Luce, Cassadee Pope, Nick Long, and Roman Campolo. Produced by Dan Swank.
The accompanying music video was directed by Doltyn Snedden.
Cassadee Pope said of the song, “The song is about how heartbreaking it is to watch someone you love struggle with addiction. It's a subject I've never written about but feel ready to share with my fans. And unfortunately, I know many of them have experienced something similar.” -
She continued, “You all sent me handwritten notes last year about your experiences with loved ones and their struggles with substance abuse. I printed them out and hung them behind me for the video, further highlighting how we've all been touched by this issue. If you see your story in the video, know that I love you and appreciate you sharing your story with me SO much. Makes me feel less alone... I hope you do too.”
