Porij Premieres New Song “Unpredictable” on BBC Radio 1
Manchester-based alt-rock band Porij, consisting of Scout Moore 'Egg' (vocals), Jacob Maguire (guitar), James Middleton (bass) and Nathan Carroll (drums), premiered a new song “Unpredictable” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the third single off of their upcoming debut album “Teething”, following “You Should Know Me” and “My Only Love”.
The track was written by Jacob Maguire, James Middleton, Nathan Carroll, and Scout Moore. Produced by David Wrench and Porij.
Scout Moore said of the song, “These lyrics came from a poem I wrote in November. It was fairly bleak, but in essence it was all about missing the simplicity of my early life but craving the complexity of the life that could come. In that period of time everything felt quite up and down and I really didn't know how I was going to feel from one day to the next.”- Scout Moore told Clara Amfo about why the song features dance music, “I think when you're releasing an album, you got to lead into it with a garish banger. What it's all about. We're all about dance music is why we started. We wanted to play dance music live and this song just felt like the perfect opportunity I think like people are always saying about Porij. We don't know what genre you're going to be next. Thanks, but unpredictable.”

Jacob Maguire continued, “It is crazy infectious, like we all go into clubs, and then some of the most inviting spaces you can be it I think so. Being like being able to play that music to people is like mega exciting.”
Scout Moore added, “It's making dance music human. It's having those like, human imperfections that you can't get when it's all electronic. And I think that's what makes it really special.”
The debut album is set to be released on April 26, 2024 via via Play It Again Sam Records.
