American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus and producer Pharrell Williams reunited to release a new song “Doctor (Work It Out)” for the first time in a decade on March 1, 2024.
Their last work was on “Come Get It Bae”, which was released from Pharrell Williams' solo album “Girl” in 2014 and Miley Cyrus joined in the song as guest vocals.
“Doctor (Work It Out)” was originally recorded back in 2013 for Miley Cyrus' fourth studio album “Bangerz”.
But the song did not make the final tracklist and was leaked online in 2017.
Miley Cyrus and Pharrell Williams re-recorded the song as the new and improved version in 2023.
Pharrell Williams first premiered the song during the Louis Vuitton Men's Fall-Winter 2024 Collection in January.
He joined the luxury brand as men's creative director, succeeding the late Virgil Abloh in 2023.
The track was written by Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, and Michael Pollack. Produced by Pharrell Williams.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jacob Bixenman.- Back in 2012, Pharrell Williams told Bullett magazine about working with Miley Cyrus, “I’m Morpheus, and she’s Neo. I can’t tell her what to do, I can only let her find it within herself. Her voice is unreal. She’s got that amazing low tone. It sings like it’s from ’79. I don’t usually compliment my own stuff, but it’s unlike anything she’s ever done before. And I have a lot of respect for her - don’t care what anyone says.”
