Vancouver-based DJ KASIA has dropped a new music video for “Heartstrings” directed by Cliff Hokanson.
The song was released as the first single from her upcoming debut album “BASS” on December 29, 2023.
Written and produce by Kasia Fryklund, the track has a foundational sound in the house genre but is infused with bass house and pop elements while being enveloped in an ethereal house ambiance.
KASIA said of the video, “The genesis of ‘Heartstrings’ comes from my own experiences of navigating the aftermath of an abusive relationship. Songwriting became my sanctuary, and creating melodies and verses was spiritually healing. For this song, I wanted to create a feeling of empowerment and a cathartic connection with the audience. For the video, I aimed to visually encapsulate the journey of resilience and self-discovery, weaving a tapestry of emotions that mirrors the transformative power of reclaiming one’s narrative.”
