Back in October 2023, British singer-songwriter Matt Terry was back with the solo single “You don't know nothing” for the first time in six years.
Following the song, he released a new song “Ghost Of Me” on February 9, 2024. The song is the second single as an independent artist.
This time, he co-wrote the song with producer James Lewis.
He showcased blending R&B and hip-hop sound with his powerful vocals.
Matt Terry said of the song, “'Ghost of Me' tells the story of how I fell in love with somebody that gave up on me at my lowest when I needed them most. But years later, after working on myself and moving on, they came running back expecting me to be in the exact same place they had left me in. However with time and growth I am a very different human today and I'm not willing to take any steps back. So I feel like they're holding on to a version of me that no longer exists, 'The Ghost of Me'. Most of us will experience this at some point in our lives and I'm happy to say I got through it.”- He shared on social media, “I want to start off by saying thank you for the bottom of heart for the support since putting myself out there releasing music as an independent artist. This record is one we all know the feeling of. You'll know what I mean when you hear it. Because we have all been through it or will go through it at some point in our lives. I sang my heart out. I wrote this not too long ago with my boy James Lewis.”
