Paramore Covers Talking Heads' “Burning Down the House”
American rock band Paramore, consisting of Hayley Williams (vocals), Taylor York (guitar) and Zac Farro (drums), released a cover of American rock band Talking Heads' “Burning Down the House” on January 31, 2024.
The song will appear on an upcoming tribute album “Everyone's Getting Involved: A Tribute to Stop Making Sense”, which is the 40-year anniversary of Talking Heads' 1984 concert film “Stop Making Sense”.
Last year, A24 released a restoration of “Stop Making Sense” with remastered sound.
Talking Heads members reunited for a live Q&A at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2023.
In addition to Paramore, the tribute album features BADBADNOTGOOD, Blondshell, the Cavemen, Chicano Batman feat. Money Mark, DJ Tunez, El Mató a un Policía Motorizado, girl in red, Jean Dawson, Kevin Abstract, the Linda Lindas, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, the National, Teezo Touchdown, and Toro y Moi.
The original version of “Burning Down the House” was released by Talking Heads as the fist single from their fifth studio album “Speaking in Tongues” in 1983.

Paramore is currently working on a new collaboration with American singer-songwriter SZA.
Hayley Williams told Rolling Stone about SZA, “I'm such a fan of her voice. And what I love about her voice is that she can easily slide around genre as well. Like she has plenty of songs throughout her catalog that feel very alternative to me and feel a little bit Strokes-y, in a way. She just has that thing.”- source : Apple Music
