  • Nothing But Thieves Premieres New Song “Oh No :: He Said What?” on BBC Radio 1

  • British rock band Nothing But Thieves, consisting of Conor Mason (vocals/guitars), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitar), Dominic Craik (guitar/keyboard), Philip Blake (bass) and James Price (drums), premiered a new song “Oh No :: He Said What?” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song is taken from their upcoming deluxe version of the fourth studio album “Dead Club City”, which is set to be released on March 15, 2024.
The track was written by Conor Mason, Dominic Craik, and Joseph Langridge-Brown. Produced by Dominic Craik, and Jonathan Gilmore.
The band said of the song, “Like ‘Welcome To The DCC', the song is mostly from the point of view of those running ‘Dead Club City' - except now, they're panicked by the monster they've helped to create. The grifters have moved in. A utopia that was meant to be beyond borders or traditional government control has been dragged back down by the human condition, maybe it was inevitable.”
  • They continued, “The song was the very last thing we finished off in the studio and at one point wasn't really part of the concept. The story was meant to end with ‘Pop The Balloon' but these extra songs leave the door open a bit. We like that. Maybe we'll want to check in on ‘Dead Club City' in a decade's time and see how it's doing?”
The band guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown added, “I don’t think we’ll know that until we finish the campaign and once the dust has settled. I like the idea of throughout our career writing a song from ‘Dead Club City’. They can just be one-offs where we revisit the world for whatever reason. As we finish the album, things are quite open-ended and the city is still thriving in a way. That’s probably a question to ask us again in a few years.”
The deluxe version comprises a 16-track, including the original 11 songs, three new songs and two stripped versions.z
