VALA Premieres New Song “On The Getaway” on BBC Music Introducing in Manchester
Manchester-based indie pop band VALA, consisting of Joe Knowles (vocaals/guitar), Matt Hill (drums), George Hill (guitar) and Tom Wynne (bass), premiered a new song “On The Getaway” on BBC Music Introducing in Manchester.
The band recorded and produced the song themselves after writing it on tour.
The track is a slight side step from the straightforward indie-pop, but adds elements of jazz as the band let out their experimental side whilst holding firmly onto their undeniable pop energy.
The band frontman Joe Knowles said of the song, “Written in part a couple of years ago, we dug On The Getaway out and got to work on this version. Most of the recording was done with some very simple gear in a flat in Nice in France while we were over for some gigs. It was one of our quickest productions from start to finish and I think you can hear the fun we were having.”- Photo by Austin Kendrick
