Jennifer Lopez Releases New Song “Can't Get Enough”
Over a year ago, American singer-songwriter and actress Jennifer Lopez announced her upcoming ninth studio album “This Is Me... Now”.
The album is a sequel to her 2002 third studio album “This Is Me... Then” and is set to be released on February 16, 2024.
It is her first album in a decade since the 2014 album “A.K.A.” and is the first release under her new label Nuyorican and BMG.
Also, the album will be released alongside a film of the same name.
On January 10, 2024, she officially released the first single called “Can't Get Enough” from the album.
She first performed the song at her wedding to American actor Ben Affleck last year.
The song interpolates lyrics from Alton Ellis' 1997 song “I'm Still in Love With You”, which was also revisited by Sean Paul and Sasha in 2002.
She worked with producers Rogét Chahayed, Angel Lopez, and Hit-BoyJeff 'Gitty' Gitelman on the track at her home studio.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jennifer Lopez, and Dave Meyers, who also directed her documentary “This Is Me... Now: The Film”.
- Jennifer Lopez told Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1 about the song, “[It feels like] authentic rhythms and melodies and more than anything, a feeling in the music, and I think that's what a lot of people who heard the album in its early days were feeling. They were like, 'There's something true about this.' There's something that feels gritty and honest and raw and real and vulnerable and brave about this music from all of these people, not just from me. I love it. I feel like 'Can't Get Enough' is a perfect way to kind of come out of the box with this one because it does have that like my performance energy.”
The new album comprises a 13-track, written and recorded at her Los Angeles home studio from 2022 through last year.
