  • Louis Cato Performs at NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

  • New York-based multi-instrumentalist and the bandleader of the Late Show Band, Louis Cato appeared on NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert to perform “Cutie Baby”, “Reflections”, “Unsightly Room”, and “Human”.

Four songs are featured on his latest album “Reflections”, which was released back in August.
The album comprises a 8-track, produced by Louis Cato, and Jack DeBoe. All songs were written by Louis Cato.
Louis Cato said of the album, Each of these songs is a snapshot of the experiences that have most meaningfully shaped my emotional identity during the past several years.”
Louis Cato told audience about this concert, “I'm sure so many people have expressed this before, but I feel very certain in all of my being that music is meant to be experienced like this. Do you guys feel that? The connection, the resonance, the real-time community, real-time feeling faster than you can think. I feel so grateful right now.”
  • Louis Cato explained about each song.

    “Cutie Baby”
“I wanted to wrap up the album on a lighter note with the message for listeners to let their freak flag fly. During production I intentionally left out bells and whistles to soak in the magic of a stripped-down and present performance. I hope you enjoy the resulting musical reduction sauce of southern folk gospel root and an open-minded personal philosophy.”

“'Reflections' is an alternate take on the experience of falling in love with a soulmate. I wrote it from the perspective of being past the honeymoon phase, so you're making sense of the infatuation—with the clarity of hindsight to see just how much of your own ego you've attracted.”

“This may be my favorite song on the album. It dives into the fear of being fully seen, and the hope that the world will see my good intentions - despite my imperfections.”
