Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Releases “Abbey Road Sessions” featuring Oasis' “The Masterplan” & “Going Nowhere”
British rock band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, consisting of Noel Gallagher (lead vocals/guitar), Mike Rowe (keyboards), Russell Pritchard (bass guitar), Chris Sharrock (drums), Gem Archer (guitar) and Jessica Greenfield (backing vocals), released “Abbey Road Sessions” on December 12, 2023.
The single features British rock band Oasis' “The Masterplan” and “Going Nowhere”.
Two songs are featured on Oasis' 1998 B-sides collection “The Masterplan”, which was re-released earlier this years to celebrate the 25th anniversary.
This time, former Oasis member Noel Gallagher re-recorded two songs with his band at Abbey Road studios in London.
The tracks were written by Noel Gallagher. The accompanying recording videos were directed by Dan Cadan and Scully.
The band released their latest album “Council Skies” back in June, and will perform in support of the album at OVO Arena Wembley in London on December 14, 2023.
- Back in June, Noel Gallagher told Rolling Stone Music Now about their next album, “I'm definitely gonna because in the lockdown I wrote about best part of 40 songs. So this album was a cross-section of all different styles that I'd done to that point which is what I liked about the album pretty boy was a bit like the electronic thing and then there was the ballading thing, and then there was the '60s thing and then there was like a bit of a jazz thing with 'Council Skies', so I picked the best things brought me to this place so far but there is an acoustic album as well which is very stripped back and which I started recording actually recently before I came away, and there's a very heavily guitar-based stadium-rock album.”
