Hazlett Releases New Song “Slow Running”
Sweden-based Australian folk singer-songwriter Hazlett will release a new EP “Goodbye To The Valley Low” on December 8, 2023 via Nettwerk.
The EP is the follow-up to his debut album “Bloom Mountain”, which was released back in January.
He made the EP in an off-grid cabin on the west coast of Sweden.
The EP comprises 6-track, including previous singles “Blame The Moon”, “Missionary Feelings” and “Mama's Boy”, the EP also comes with unreleased tracks, “Cemetery” and “Stolen Seasons”.
The EP features personal anecdotes and showcasing the polished introspective song writing.
Hazlett said of the EP, “It was January 13th. My very first album had just come out. I sat there in a nervous mess petrified people weren't going to like it. So I did what I always do in times of trouble... I wrote. I sat in my window and I wrote and I wrote and I wrote. Until I realised I had a dozen ideas sitting infront of me. For me creative flows come and go without reason so me and freddy quickly headed out west in Sweden with too many guitars to a cabin off the grid to capture all of it. So while some of you were listening to 'Bloom Mountain' I was finishing the story that comes next… An EP I like to call 'Goodbye To The Valley Low'.”
- From the EP, he released a new song “Slow Running” on November 10, 2023.
The track was written by Hazlett and produced by Freddy Alexander.
Hazlett said of the song, “When the going's good and all is well it usually means there's a strange little thought that wonders how long is it going to last. Maybe we've all grown too cynical, thinking the good times are never going to last or we've stumbled into a strange emotional evolution. Before anything has a chance to hurt us we've already prepared for the ghost. Bunkered down in our thoughts and vivid imaginations of what might come and what might not ever be.”
