  • PinkPantheress Releases Debut Album “Heaven knows”

  • London-based singer-songwriter PinkPantheress released her debut album “Heaven knows” on November 10, 2023.

It is her first project in two years since the 2021 mixtape “To Hell with It”.
Also, the album marks the first material that she recorded outside of London. She put down roots over the past two years in Los Angeles.
PinkPantheress said of the album, “The record is about grief for a loss but being at peace with yourself in your aloneness. Journeying from hell into purgatory, but I'm ok with being there...”
She continued, “This album is an accumulation of music I've made over the last two years, with some beloved tunes that might sound familiar and some cutie features.”
The album comprises 13-track, featuring guest appearances from Rema, Central Cee, Kelela, and Ice Spice.
On the album, she worked with producers Greg Kurstin, Mura Masa, Phil, Oscar Scheller, Cash Cobain, Count Baldor, BNYX, Presplay, Wonder, London on da Track, Vitals, Danny L Harle, Sam Gellaitry, F1lthy, and RISC.

Back in February, PinkPantheress told NME about her music, “People always say, 'She's not a genre, she didn't create this'. I don't use the word 'genre' to describe myself. I know I didn't invent drum'n'bass or garage, but what I did do is create a very specific sound which I wanted to have for myself.”
She continued, “One thing that I love is if people see me as the spearhead, I'm glad I'm representing this genre as a Black woman. It's another example of Black people managing to spearhead a whole genre of music, and I'm really glad I'm the one doing that.”
She added, “I feel like it's so important as an artist to show versatility, because once you do that people realise you're not leaning on the beat for the music to be good. You're just leaning on your own pen. That's all I've ever cared about. I don't care about the beats, I care about the pen.”

  • PinkPantheress explained about some tracks for the album,

“After a long wait my favourite song is coming out to the public. I'm so excited for you guys to hear something different from me in form of this song. I was trying to give breakfast at tiffany's lol but a big thank you is in order to Greg Kurstin who was the catalyst for this track and Sophie Muller who directed this amazing video with my darling angel girlfriends.”

    “Capable of love”
“Some of the songs that are coming out on like demos I've been out for a long time. I'm talking like 2021. So I think some people will be pleasantly surprised by like, being able to hear their favorite demos, like on Spotify and stuff or Apple Music or other.”

“Boy's a liar Pt. 2” with Ice Spice
“When it comes to collaborations, I'm quite picky: I always want someone who can match me well on a track. Even though Ice Spice does drill, her flows are super unique and the beats she chooses are different. A lot of people would struggle with the beats I choose, but I knew she'd be good for it.”
