  • Thirty Seconds To Mars Releases New Album “It's The End Of The World But It's A Beautiful Day”

  • American rock band Thirty Seconds To Mars, consisting of Jared Leto (vocals/guitar) and Shannon Leto (drums), released their sixth studio album “It's The End Of The World But It's A Beautiful Day” on September 15, 2023.

It is their first album in five years since the 2018 album “America.”
The band had penned 200 tracks for the album. It was inspired by 1970s and 1980s electronic music.
Jared Leto said in a statement, “It's very much a companion piece and a continuation of a journey started with 'Up In The Air,' a celebration of art, design, fashion, and the remarkable people who bring them to life. It is a love letter to the power of movement and connection, a testament to the awe-inspiring potential of people who don't necessarily fit so neatly in – but make the world so much more fascinating.”
The album comprises 11-track, and is filled with shorter songs than usual.
Jared Leto told Zane Lowe of Apple Music, “For us, the bravest thing to do was to make an album like this. I could have gone back and made a 12-minute prog rock song or done something really esoteric. It does feel like a new beginning to us,” Leto said. “It's important, as you continue to be an artist, to be willing to destroy a bit of yourself—to let go of the past in order to move forward.”

Jared Leto said of the album, “I really feel like it represents where we're at as a planet, as a people. You keep waiting for crazy to be over. But there's just one more day. And sometimes it's easy to forget that life is full of promise and hope and beauty. We're not shy about things. But this album was different. We really challenged ourselves to do as little as possible. We wanted there to be a focus on the vocal and really to allow what is there to be felt and heard.”
He continued, “This is an important album for us. It feels like we're a brand-new band, like we're at the beginning again and that's an exciting place to be on your sixth album. We're really breaking new ground for ourselves creatively and going to places we haven't been before. And I think a lot of people are going to be surprised.”
He added, “What a privilege it is to make a sixth album. It's incredible. I never thought we would make a single album. I never thought we would have a song on the radio. I never thought a single person would sing our songs at a concert.”

  • “Stuck”
“I wrote it from the perspective of a narrator who simply can't help himself from plunging headfirst into what will likely be a doomed romance. It's about knowing you need to get out but simply being unable to, whether that's from fear or comfort or confusion, hence being 'Stuck.' Thanks to my incredibly creative mother, my brother and I were instilled with a love for art and photography from a very young age. The video for STUCK, our first new song in five years, is a love letter to some of my favorite photographers. Artists who made a very deep impact on me like Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Robert Mapplethorpe, Diane Arbus, Herb Ritts and more. Artists whose work changed the way I saw things and showed me new possibilities at every turn. The video for STUCK is very much a companion piece and a continuation of a journey started with 'Up In The Air,' a celebration of art, design, fashion, and the remarkable people who bring them to life. It is a love letter to the power of movement and connection, a testament to the awe-inspiring potential of people who don't necessarily fit so neatly in - but make the world so much more fascinating. I would like to express my immense gratitude to everyone involved. From the incredibly talented artists and designers to the behind-the-scenes team. All who worked so hard to make it all possible. Your contributions have made this experience an absolutely unforgettable adventure and helped to capture and celebrate the essence of what makes us all unique and exceptional.”

    “Life is Beautiful”
“As an artist, I hope to create music that connects deeply with people and our upcoming album, It's The End Of The World But It's A Beautiful Day, is a testament to that pursuit. Life is Beautiful is a song that examines the beauty and fragility of life, reminding us to embrace its fleeting moments and find solace in its unpredictable journey. I hope this song ignites some kind of a spark in the listener, reminding them that amidst the chaos and challenges of the world, there is always a glimmer of hope and beauty to be found.”

    “Get Up Kid”
“It's got me thinking about things… Sometimes life is easy. Sometimes it's not,” he wrote in the update, sharing an image of them both as children. But I'm lucky because I have my brother to share this journey with. No matter how hard life might seem at times we always have each other to turn to. Feeling grateful for that. And for all of you.”
