Elle Baez Releases New Song “Fuego”
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Elle Baez released a new song “Fuego” on August 8, 2023.
The song is a Spanglish Latin-Pop ode of celebration to honor Elle Baez's father and abuelo who immigrated to the USA from a small farm in the Dominican Republic and achieved the American Dream.
The track was written by Elle Baez and produced by Chris Del Camino. Live piano by Milton Salcedo, Live percussion from Ricky Matute, Live Colombian horn trio recorded by Daniel Godoy.
Elle Baez said of the song, “I have held 'Fuego' so close to my heart for so many years. It tells not only my story, but the story of those who came before me and made it possible for me to the be the confident woman and artist I am today. I am a curvy fierce Latina and I will continue to shine my light. The fire of mi comunidad that has set me ablaze keeps me going. My dad grew up on a farm in Ocoa and to see the life he has made makes me see that anything is impossible. 'From the farm in Ocoa, made a legacy for ya, praise and love the Lord!'”
- She shared on social media, “'Fuego' tells the story of my dad and abuelo immigrating from DR to the USA. They came from a farm in Ocoa to NYC with little to nothing. My dad was able to work his butt off and go to a top law school and now he has given me the blessing of being able to follow my dreams. He never stops working and he does it all for his children. He taught me anything is possible and to never give up.”
