UMI Returns With New Song “happy im”
Los Angeles-based R&B singer-songwriter Tierra Umi Wilson, aka UMI returned with a new song “happy im” on August 11, 2023.
The song is her first music since the 2022 debut album “Forest in the City”.
The track was written by UMI, and V Ron who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by UMI herself.
“happy im’ was written at a time where I felt myself running from love - the type that can be felt in many ways; love for a dream, family, career, a place, or a person,” UMI said of the song. “I wrote this song to remind myself, and those who listen, that it’s okay to be happy - it’s what we came here to experience. And oftentimes, when we allow ourselves to stop thinking so hard about it, we let it in.”- UMI shared on social media, “My first independent release in a few years. it feels good to be back. I wrote this song to remind myself that it’s okay to be happy to not think so hard about love - life is meant to be sweet. When we stop thinking so hard about it - we let it in.”
UMI embarks on Asia Tour 2023. The tour kicked off at Road to Sonic Bang in Bangkok on August 12, 2023 and will conclude at Modern Sky Lab in Shanghai on September 1, 2023.
