Olivia Rodrigo Releases New Song “bad idea right?”
American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo released the second single called “bad idea right?” from her upcoming sophomore album “GUTS” on August 11, 2023.
The track was written by Olivia Rodrigo, Daniel Nigro, who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Petra Collins, who draws draws Olivia Rodrigo as she toys with the idea of reconnecting with an ex-boyfriend. Also Canadian singer-songwriter Tate Mcrae appeared on the video as a cameo.
“‘Bad Idea Right?’ started with us making a joke song about me hooking up with an ex-boyfriend, but then we realized we were actually onto something,” Olivia Rodrigo said of the song in a statement. “We were throwing the weirdest things at the wall — in one of the choruses there’s a part that sounds like an instrument in the background, but it’s me gradually screaming louder and louder.”
The new album comprises 12-track and is set to be released on September 8, 2023.- Olivia Rodrigo shared on social media, “I had such a fun time making this song with Daniel Nigro in nyc last year. we wrote the chorus as a joke but we loved it so much we made it into a full fledged song lol! I had a ball making the music video with my friends Petra Collins, Madison Hu, Tate Mcrae, Iris Scot and I’m so happy it’s out in the world.”
