Towa Bird Releases New Song “This Isn't Me”
Filipino-British singer-songwriter and guitarist Towa Bird released the third single called “This Isn't Me” following “Wild Heart” and “Boomerang” on August 4, 2023 via Interscope Records.
The track was written by Towa Bird, and Thomas Powers who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Towa Bird and Luka McGhie.
Towa Bird wrote the song when she retuned to Los Angeles from France.
“I moved to the U.S. in October 2021 and by February I was flown out to Paris for fashion week,” Towa Bird said of the song. “Everyone there seemed to know each other, and I knew no one. Conversations didn't feel authentic. Questions felt layered. 'Who are you?' felt like 'Who can you be to me?'; 'Where are you from?' felt like 'Why do you deserve to be here?' (The answer: I didn't feel like I deserved to be there.) There were celebrities, carpets, catwalks, and paparazzi. It was a paradox - the opportunity was so amazing and I'm so grateful, but I felt entirely alone.”- Towa Bird will support American actress Reneé Rapp's Snow Hard Feelings Tour along with American singer-songwriter Alexander 23 this fall.
The tour kicks off at Bayou Music Center in Houston on September 15, 2023.
