Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Stormzy Teams Up With RAYE for New Song “The Weekend”
British rapper Stormzy teamed up with British singer-songwriter RAYE again to release a new song “The Weekend” on July 19, 2023.
This marks the second collaboration between Stormzy and RAYE since the 2016 song “Ambition”, which is featured on RAYE's 2016 EP “Second”.
The track was written by Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. and Rachel Keen. Produced by London and RAYE.
The accompanying music video was directed by Omar Jones.
For Stormzy, the song is the second single since his third studio album “This Is What I Mean”, which was released last November, following “Toxic Trait” featuring Fredo.
Recently, he told Dazed Magazine about his music, “There's a difference between doing music at 22 and when you're about to turn 30. It's the kind of peace and stability and stillness you can only get from maturity.
