Mike Ruby Releases New Song “unconditional”
Canadian singer-songwriter Mike Ruby released the second single called “unconditional” from his upcoming EP “a million you's” on July 14, 2023.
The track was written by Mike Ruby, Alex Utay, and Joel Stouffer.
Mike Ruby said of the song, “My new release, 'unconditional' is a blunt, no holds barred love song that is as literal as ever. All the layers symbolize the tough situations that arise in relationships. In the end, it all comes back down to where it started, a simplistic piano line, mirrored by a simplistic idea.”
He added, “The song is from my second EP, a million you's, which will be out in the fall. Enjoy the dive with your ride or die.”
The new EP is expected to be released this fall. It is his first project in three years since the 2020 EP “You Wrote These Songs”.- Mike moved to New York at 19 to pursue a career in jazz as a sax player, receiving a full scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music.
After signing a record deal to a subsidiary of Universal Music, he began playing with Brooklyn based synth pop band St. Lucia, which opened his ears to a realm of synth and dance-like possibilities.
He said, “I first started my career as a jazz sax player, then played with Brooklyn based synth pop band St. Lucia, before finally picking up my own guitar and playing solo.” - source : Apple Music
