Elif Dame Releases New Song “Killing It” featuring GANZ
Back in June, Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter Elif Dame returned with “Celexa (Buy Me Time)” after a two-year hiatus.
The song is the first single off of her upcoming album “Securely Detached”, which is expected to be released in 2023.
Elif Dame said of her hiatus, “I've lived with major depression since I was just 5 years old. I found refuge in music and thought it could save me, but unfortunately life isn't that romantic.”
She decided to take a hiatus in 2021 and committed herself to prioritizing her own mental health. During hiatus, she documented the process and started making music again.
She said of the album, “It's about reframing my co-dependent relationships and about my time on the waitlist to get mental health care. It's about the important process of learning what it means to put yourself first.”
Following “Celexa (Buy Me Time)”, she released the second single called “Killing It” from the album on July 14, 2023.
This time, she teamed up with Amsterdam-based DJ GANZ on the track.
