Alan Chang Returns With New Song “Love As A Weapon”
American jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Alan Chang returned with a new song “Love As A Weapon” on May 5, 2023.
It is his first music in three years since 2020 single “Half-American”.
The song will appear on his upcoming album, which is expected to be released later in 2023.
The track was written by Alan Chang, Pino Palladino, Tamir Barzilay, Will Graefe, Zac Rae and Russell Elevado. Produced by Ryan Lerman.
The lyrics of the song encapsulate the emotional frustration that’s been bottled up for an indefinite period of time and definitively highlight the process behind his battle as both a friend and coworker of Michael Bublé.
Alan Chang said of the song, “‘Love As A Weapon’ was written a few days after telling Michael Bublé that I no longer wanted to tour with him after 19 years. Though he and I are close friends, and he’s given me so much, it was tough to ignore some negative feelings that came up, whether they were justified or not."
The new album is his first project in six years since the 2017 album “Say What I Got to Say”.
