Meg Smith Releases New Song “breakup with a friend”
Brooklyn-based indie pop singer-songwriter Meg Smith released a new song “breakup with a friend” on April 202, 203.
The song is her first music since the 4-track EP “Rom Com Pop” released back in February.
It was written by Meg Smit, Ana Yanez, and Jackson Hoffman who also produce the track.
The accompanying lyric video was created by Emily Hoang.
The track is about the heartbreak that comes with a friendship breakup.
Meg Smith said of the song, “The Biggest heartbreak I ever felt was a friendship breakup. Some people feel like platonic soulmates, so when the friendship ends, it's overwhelming. I felt like I had to write a song that expressed all the frustration and heartache I felt.”
- Meg Smith is better known for the 2020 “Cross My Heart I Hope U Die”, which is featured in episode three of season two of “Ginny & Georgia” and is also the theme song to Apple TV’s LGBTQ+ vampire TV show “EZRA”.
She also appeared on season one of “EZRA” and will appear on season two.
