The Paper Kites Releases New Song “Till The Flame Turns Blue”
Australian indie folk-rock band The Paper Kites, consisting of Sam Bentley (vocals/guitar/harmonica/mandolin), Christina Lacy (keyboard), David Powys (guitar), Samuel Rasmussen (bass) and Josh Bentley (drums), released a new song “Till The Flame Turns Blue” on April 7, 2023.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming sixth studio album “At The Roadhouse”, which is expected to be released in 2023.
It was written by Sam Bentley and produced by Matt Redlich.
The accompanying music video was directed by Keiran Watson-Bonnice.
The new album is their first LP in two years since the 2021 album “Roses”.
The band said of the album, “What began as something imagined, became an experience realised by everyone in the room. A kind of magic born from people connecting with music and friends.”
- Back in July 2022, to make the new album, the band spent a month playing in the small Victorian town of Campbell's Creek.
“We had talked about this for years” Sam Bentley explained. “We were drawn to the idea of holding up in a town somewhere and playing the evenings as a house band. The Roadhouse became this place for us.”
