Ricky Byrd Releases New Song “Glamdemic Blues” & Cover of Four Tops' “Reach Out (I'll Be There)”
American guitarist and singer-songwriter Ricky Byrd released a new song “Glamdemic Blues” on February 24, 2023 via Wicked Cool Records.
The single featured a b-side cover of American vocal quartet Four Tops' classic “Reach Out (I'll Be There)”.
The song is his first music since in two years the 2021 album “Sobering Times”.
The track was written and produced by Ricky Byrd with production by Bob Stander.
Ricky Byrd said of the song, “I wrote this big RnR / Glam/ Pop tune about a year into the pandemic. Frustrated with putting everything on hold when the world shut down, I sat down with guitar in hand and wrote a letter to life . Glamdemic Blues is the result.”
The original version of “Reach Out (I'll Be There)” was released by Four Tops from their fourth studio album “Reach Out” in 1966.
The song reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles chart.
Ricky Byrd is known as a member of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.- Photo by Frankie Byrd
