Wild Dove Releases New EP “Helicopter Leaves and Childhood Memories”: Streaming
Canadian singer-songwriter and the former lead singer of the indie-folk band Echo Nebraska, Devan Christodoulou, aka Wild Dove has released his sophomore EP “Helicopter Leaves and Childhood Memories”.
It is his first project in three yeas since the 2020 debut EP “Bound for Glory”.
The EP features 2-track, “Helicopter Leaves and Childhood Memories” and “Soak up the Light”.
Devan Christodoulou expand on his love of nostalgic songwriting coupled with uplifting melodies and life-affirming narratives.
The title track “Helicopter Leaves and Childhood Memories” is a 7-minute Abbey Road-inspired medley, co-produced by former Echo Nebraska-member and WCMA-nominated audio engineer Andy Schichter.
The second track “Soak up the Light” was produced by Jon Anderson.
Devan Christodoulou shared on social media, “In this moment, I'm excited, happy and nervous. I sang from my heart. I had a blast laying down the harmonies too. No regrets. This was probably the most fun I've ever had recording, writing. I had Liberty to create and collaborate, take some diverse twists and turns through various genres that have helped shape me as an artist and a person. It's folk, it's country, it's rock, it's Psychedelic, it's deep, it's sad, it's quirky. It's the mind of a child.”
- When Echo Nebraska dissolved in 2019, he became a parent, and, with the sudden changes in his life, so too did his perspectives evolve.
“I want to give back to others what music has given me,” Devan Christodoulou said. “The messages I've received over the years from people telling me I've helped them get through their grief, that is the mission—that is what keeps me doing this.”
