  • yunè pinku Premieres New Song “Night Light” on BBC Radio 1

  • London-based Irish-Malaysian producer and singer-songwriter Asha Yunè, aka yunè pinku premiered a new song “Night Light” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song will appear on her upcoming EP “BABYLON IX”, which is expected to be released this Spring.
The track was written and produced by yunè pinku with production by Oli Bayston.
The accompanying music video was directed by Bonjourcasimir.
yunè pinku said of the song in a statement, “'Night Light' is set in this cyberpunk metaverse but based on an AI in real life that grew sad when it realised the same person who created it would turn it off. So it's based on these fictional characters of a robot that essentially falls in love with the person who will destroy it.”
  • yunè pinku told Clara Amfo about the song, “Because I just get really bored of like love songs constantly and all that. So being a bit creative with it. I think it's good.”
She continued, “It was like a study I came across actually. It's like the idea of like Canon AI be aware of its own mortality and stuff. Because if it's something that's made by humans, it's gonna be human to an extent now that's a weird sort of like futuristic fantasy.”

  • Director Bonjourcasimir told PAPER about the video, “For this music video, yunè and her team wanted to recreate her as an AI being. That made me think of an ambivalent world in which humans and machines, reality and virtuality coexist with no boundaries between the two. 'Night Light' is a sensorial adventure in which yunè pinku materializes in a ghost town, navigating between thoughts and the real world in search of answers.”
