Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ U.S. Girls Announces New Album “Bless This Mess”, Shares New Song “Futures Bet”
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Meg Remy's solo project, U.S. Girls announced her eighth studio album “Bless This Mess” would be released on February 24, 2023 via 4AD.
It is her first project in three years since the 2020 album “Heavy Light”.
The album comprises 11-track, featuring guest appearances from Alanna Stuart, Marker Starling and Michael Rault.
Also, it was made with collaborators, including Aex Frankel of Holy Ghost!, Ryland Blackinton of Cobra Starship, Basia Bulat, and Roger Manning Jr. of Jellyfish and Beck.
She created the album while she was pregnant with her twin boys. (the tenth track “Pump” samples her breast pump)- From the album, she unveiled a new song “Futures Bet” along with a music video on January 10, 2023.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Bless This Mess” and “So Typically Now”.
It was written by Meg Remy and Basia Bulat. Produced by Geordie Gordon, Meg Remy and Maximilian Turnbull.
The accompanying video was directed by Alex Kingsmill, starring Meg Remy, Carlyn Bezic, and Thomas Freitag.
She embarks on Bless This Mess Tour in support of the album. The tour kicks off at Centre PHI in Montreal on April 13, 2023.
