  • Masked Wolf Releases New Song “Butterflies & Bandaids”

  • This month, Australian rapper Harry Michael, aka Masked Wolf announced that he departed from his major label Elektra Awards and retuned to independent label Teamwrk Records.

After the announcement, he released a new song “Butterflies & Bandaids” along with a music video on December 16, 2022.
The song is the first single after leaving Elektra Awards.
It was written by Harry Michael, Tyron Hapi, and Andrew Goldstein. Produced by Tyron Hapi.
The accompanying video was directed by Nick Kozakis and Liam Kelly.
Masked Wolf said of the song, “A song about having to roll with the punches no matter how you are feeling, and trying to push on no matter your mental state.”
  • Masked Wolf wrote about leaving his major label on social media, “This year has been a weird one for me. Spending 3 months touring Europe and playing my music live was a surreal experience. Connecting with fans in countries I only dreamed of being able to travel to- let alone playing my music in.
However where there are highs, there are also lows. After releasing ‘Astronaut in the Ocean’, I was thrown into a world I knew little about and in no way I mentally prepared for. Going into 2022 I was trying my best to pave my way as the artist I had always envisioned. However along with a popular song comes pressure to follow it up, peoples opinions, people trying to take creative control and direction of me and my music, the hateful messages, the backlash of being an Aussie artist gaining traction outside of your country. Along with being a massive introvert battling anxiety I had no idea how to manage.”

  • He continued, “This year I felt moments of being pulled in directions that didn’t sit right or feel authentic to me. I definitely struggled to find my own lane and voice in an industry that tells you what you should be doing and will point out everything that’s wrong with you.
The back end of this year I split from my major label and will move into 2023 as an independent artist back with my original team at Teamwrk Records with complete creative control over my music again. I’m ready to share with my fans new music I’ve been working on and writing everything from the heart. Love it or hate it. It’s going to be me 100%.
To the fans who have stuck with me - Thankyou. I’m growing and learning every day as an artist. See you all in 2023.”
