Eleanor Releases Debut Song “Make Sense”
Canadian singer-songwriter Eleanor Gebrou, aka Eleanor released her debut song “Make Sense” on November 23, 2022.
The lyrics speak about the frustration that comes with not achieving life milestones in a timely way.
This song is an encouragement to the disappointed, or at the very least an acknowledgement that these feelings are real and painful.
Eleanor said of the song, “'Make Sense' was written as a conversation between my mother and I, reflecting on the frustration that comes with not reaching certain milestones 'on time,' such as marriage and home ownership. This song juxtaposes upbeat and dreamy production with lyrics that are serious and pensive.”
- She continued, “My generation has been impacted by inflation, recessions, and quarantine. Our expectations of adulthood have been a little crushed. My new single, 'Make Sense,' laments this and is a reminder to others that they are not walking alone.”
She added, “The visuals for 'Make Sense' are taken from an animation I had done of a young Ethiopian girl finding the strength to exit her home during the rain, imagery which is connected to the Tigray War near my mom's birthplace.”
Eleanor Gebrou is a singer-songwriter based in London, Ontario.
Her live performance records spans a decade and she worked as background vocals for many recording artists, the likes of Chad Price, Texas King, and Juno Awards-nominee Emanuel.
