London-based singer-songwriter Asha Gold has dropped a new music video for “Only For The Night”.
The song was released on October 28, 2022 and received its first play during BBC Music Introducing.
The track was written by Asha Gold and Mitch Jones, who also produced it.
The video was directed by Christian Cargill.
The song will appear on her upcoming EP “Maybe This Is Me Growing Up”, which is set to be released on December 2, 2022.
Asha Gold said of the song, “I wrote it about the disillusionment you feel when someone acts a certain way in one moment, and completely differently the next”.- Director Christian Cargill said of the video, “It’s always great to get to make a video for a track you love. ‘Only For the Night’ captures that exhilaration of early dating so vividly and I wanted to bring those moments to life and show the naivety and brutality of when that person disappears in an instant without warning. Snakes became a strong symbolism for this when writing the idea, often associated with temptation and lies but like those first dates, you can easily miss the warning signs whilst transfixed by someone’s presence.”
