Adele Drops New Music Video for “I Drink Wine”
British singer-songwriter Adele has dropped a new music video for “I Drink Wine”.
The song was released as the third single from her fourth studio album “30” on October 26, 2022.
Adele co-wrote the song with its producer Greg Kurstin. The video was directed by Joe Talbot.
Before the release of the video, she revealed that the video was filmed as the first one in the album.
Adele shared on social media, “The I Drink Wine video was the first one I shot for this album. And it's finally coming out.”
The song's lyrics reference her divorce from her ex-husband Simon Konecki, with whom she shares 10-year-old son Angelo, and the fact that she had stopped drinking during the process.
Adele told Rolling Stone about the song as shedding one's ego, complete with a bit of a Seventies Elton John and Bernie Taupin flair.
She said, "I took everything so personally at that period of time in my life. So the lyric 'I hope I learn to get over myself' is like [me saying] 'once I've done that, then maybe I can let you love me.'"
The album “30” was released in 2021 and reached No. 1 on the UK Albums chart and the US Billboard 200.
Also, the album won British Album of the Year at the 42nd Brit Awards, making Adele the first solo artist in history to win the honour three times.- source : YouTube
