WILLOW Performs “curious/furious” & YUNGBLUD's “The Funeral” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
- American singer-songwriter Willow Smith, aka WILLOW appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform her latest song “curious/furious” and a cover of YUNGBLUD's “The Funeral”.
“curious/furious” was released earlier this month from her upcoming fifth studio album “ᐸCOPINGMECHANISMᐳ”.
It was written by Willow Smith, and Chris Greatti, who also produced the track.
Willow Smith said, “I wanted to go for rock. I didn't want to go for pop-punk. I didn't want to go for what's necessarily popular right now. I wanted to go for the heart of rock music, which to me is a deep outcry – maybe about pain, maybe about joy.”
The new album comprises 11-track and is set to be released on October 7, 2022.
“The Funeral” was released by British singer-songwriter YUNGBLUD from his self-titled third studio album back in March.
“I just love the lyrics; I love just the vibe that he's giving on this song,” Willow Smith said of the cover. “It feels very like Billy Idol to me. I just love the vibe that [Yungblud] has. And I learned it on acoustic guitar a few months ago and was just like, 'I really love that song, so why not do that'.”
She continued, “I had to bring out the upright bass, y'know… give it a different vibe. Doing it in such a different way… it just fills my heart. I'm so happy.”
