Shawn Mendes Releases New Song “Heartbeat” from New Film “Lyle, Lyle Crocodile” Soundtrack
Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes> joined in an upcoming family film “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile”.
The film is based on the children's story of the same name, which was written by Bernard Waber first published in 1965.
“Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” is the sequel to The House on East 88th Street, published in 1962.
He played as the singing voice of main character, Lyle. The film was directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, starring Javier Bardem, Constance Wu, Winslow Fegley, Scoot McNairy, and Brett Gelman.
From the soundtrack, he released a new song “Heartbeat” on September 30, 2022.
The track was written by Shawn Mendes, Jon Bellion, Jason Cornet, Amy Allen, Scott Harris, Clyde Lawrence, and Jordan Cohen.

“What was really amazing was that Lyle as a character only sings, so I felt really comfortable playing his character,” Shawn Mendes said. “I was able to do what I do best, plus I relate to his story and his character so much it felt natural. When I was approached to help make the music for the adaptation of such a classic book, it was a no brainer and just such a fun departure from what I am used to.”
