Jacob Collier Covers Queen's “Somebody To Love” at Coliseu de Lisboa in Lisbon
- British singer-songwriter Jacob Collier covered British rock band Queen's “Somebody To Love” during his Djesse Summer Tour 2022.
He filmed the song at Coliseu de Lisboa in Lisbon on July 29, 2022.
The live video was directed by André Tentugal.
“Somebody To Love” was released by Queen from their fifth studio album “A Day at the Races” in 1976. The song reached No. 2 on the UK Singles chart and No. 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
It was written by the band lead singer Freddie Mercury. The track is a soul-searching piece that questions God's role in a life without love.
The Djesse Summer Tour has been running in support of Jacob Collier's third studio album “Djesse Vol. 3”, which was released in 2020 as the third part in the Djesse series.
- Jacob Collier shared on social media, “HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY, DJESSE VOL. 3!!!! Twelve songs that changed my life. Hundreds of sleepless nights. Thousands of logic tracks tall. Tens of thousands of clicks and drags. Millions of blinks. Billions of bytes.”
He continued, “This was my quarantine adventure - an alternate universe I could be a gardener of through it all. What spurred me on was the thought of singing these songs on tour with you all, on the other side. To have finally been able to do so has brought me inarticulable joy. Thank you to all who have lived alongside this album over any of these past 730 days. And now… Djesse Vol. 4 approaches 💥”
